BYU Education Week, 8-18-08 to 8-23-08

My mom and I took a week off work, and attended BYU Education Week. It was great! The classes were wonderful, and I enjoyed the down time.

Pictures of our dorm room.
We were in Helaman Halls, and stayed in Taylor Hall. Our room was at the very end of the hall.Room 3122, our home for the week! The Gordon B. Hinckley Alumni and Visitors Center. A very beautiful building!
My mom with Jill Stevens, former Miss Utah.

Looking towards Spanish Fork and the very large windmills at the mouth of Spanish Fork canyon. A butterfly display, made of butterflies in the Monte L. Bean Life Science Museum.A Javelina from Arizona, this one is for you Dan!
Various salmon, it made me think of Dan and Cassie and all their fishing in Alaska this summer!Ella Good Shaved Ice, just south of the BYU campus. I was so excited it was finally open when I went. They serve Hawaiian shaved ice, which has vanilla ice cream in the bottom. A very yummy treat!
Killing some time between classes, taking pictures. My mom walked to the Brickoven Restaurant, and saw this large spider web on our way. Yuck. This deer was on the BYU campus, just east of the Brickoven Restaurant. An unexpected surprise.
More pictures of Taylor Hall, where we stayed. Our room is on the top floor, at the very end.

Hey, Jenny! That's great you're still going to Education Week. I still remember running into you at the class about the Founding Fathers' lives. That was the last time I really attended because I tried to go twice after that and found I was constantly playing hookie and skipping out to shop, lunch and go to movies with friends.
